As one concrete manifestation of Business Processing Outsourcing company professionalism, PT Garuda Daya Pratama Sejahtera (GDPS) has completed trademark registration at the Directorate General of Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Law & Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia (DirjenHAKI). In total, 11 trademark classes were registered, including: GDPS Logo, Beyond Clean, Beyond Fresh, Beyond Sky, Beyond Secure, and Beyond Trusted.
GDPS appreciates the importance of trademark registration initiatives as a national company. Trademark protection is essential for countries wanting rapid development, as it enables entities to be appreciated for their authenticity and reap optimal economic benefits from their innovations.
The entire trademark registration process was initiated by GDPS in June 2021 and has now received legal protection. Thus, GDPS became part of the increase in trademark registrations at the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI) Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenkumham) that year.
Previously, the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI) Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) announced an increase in patent or trademark applications in 2020-2021. Despite Indonesia being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic over the past two years, there has been a significant surge in patent or trademark protection registrations of all types. Simple patent applications increased from only 2,311 in 2020 to 3,263 in 2021. Meanwhile, regular patent or trademark applications increased from 2,727 to 2,833 during the same period. Additionally, the number of international patent applications based on the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) also increased significantly from 5,819 to 6,371 in 2021.
“Trademark registration is one of our priorities at GDPS, because we view trademarks as a representation of business identity for the products we offer. Trademark registration can provide legal protection to our business and prevent others from using or misusing it.
